Here are some of my favorite photos from the last few months on film. All of these were shot on 35mm and most are Portra 400. All of these were scanned on my new-to-me home scanner, a Noritsu LS-600 that I bought from AAA imaging. I can't recommend getting this scanner if you are at all interested in scanning your photos at home. It gives you full control to the final look of your photos and is very easy to use.
A few weeks ago I took some photos of my friend, and fellow photographer, Sara (from Studio SPC) and her family. I had been toying with the idea of shooting film at a family session but when I tried to plan out when I would shoot film and when I would shoot digital I would get stuck. So I figured why not just dive in and try all film. Lucky for me Sara was all for it and I am so grateful to her for letting her family be my first guinea pigs. It felt so weird not taking 500+ photos at a family session - I took 68 frames total this day. I learned SO much from this session and most importantly it gave me a boost of confidence that I CAN do this. I definitely made some mistakes but overall I am so happy with these photos.
Portra 400 rated at box speed and not pushed. I LOVE this roll. When I look at these photos and see the colors, the greens, the skies, I fall in love. Definitely going to be shooting more of this film!
